Dreamers and Jetskis: the ongoing adventures of Eeta Mae Jane, Spy Actress Extraodinaire

One tricky thing about being a spy actress is that there a lot of rules but you have to know which ones are the fun ones and which are the ones that are rules to bend.

Isn’t that the cool thing about life? Lots of things BEND. Like caterpillars and my back, and sticks. And then sometimes they pop and break. One of the things I have to do everyday around here is chores, and one of my daily chores is to collect sticks. But I don’t mind these chores, because it’s like recess, and then I make new discoveries. That’s the part of being a spy everyday. Is to go on a new mission and find a Discovery. Then I record them all in my notebook like a good scientist. That’s what I am too. A spy scientist. Investigating the uncharted territory that exists in every day life. Spies do have everyday lives you know. It’s not all just Jane Bond glam and glamour at the swimming pool, or great chase scenes that throw you into fits of laughter bc you always win at the end. I’m talking the daily ins and outs of True Spydom and how that leads to the best inventions. Why I can invent something new everyday if I want to. That’s how wild my imagination is.

How wild is your imagination? I used to get in trouble for daydreaming too much. Now I know it’s the best thing ever. I wonder if everyone was a daydreamer. Then believed in their daydreams. And turned them into real machinations.

That’s one of my favorite things to do. Is to invent my own theories. That’s pretty fun. Einstein had to start somewhere right? It’s ok if I never become a Famous Scientist. I think I’m meant to be a famous actress, for sure. Someday I mean when I grow up. For now I’ll keep inventing rules and play with my theories on life and thoughts and how that makes the sun shine.

I wonder who invented the sun. They say everything we see started with a thought. Do you believe that? I wonder who thought up clouds? That makes me want to investigate for sure!

I don’t worry myself too much about original thought. When I first moved to NYC I was sad because I when I looked around it felt like everything creative that could exists had already been made, so where would my dreams fit in? And how could there be possibly anything new to create? I mean I loved being around all the people, there was so much to see, and everyone that I met was very nice, as a lot of New Yorkers are nice and helpful to strangers. But I wondered about my personal experiments and inventions. Where are they going to live here in city streets and swarms of humans?

When I went to the old Gowanus neighborhood, before it was Gowanus (home of proposed displaced and searching artists) and I’d ride my bike through empty alleys and torn up buildings. It always felt like a better world to be a dreamer in there, in abandoned brooklyn yards, like somewhere where there was still place to dream dreams. And think about things and imagine them.

Today I was thinking about relative science, a science that you can bend. Especially if you live in the Quantum Plane. You know like the higher up you go and you can go really, really fast, and see everything, and even the ants they look like protons and neutrons, and your nose spins backwards like it does in cartoon movies.

That’s what’s fun about being on a quantum plane. You can fly fast and meet anyone you want to meet, and then talk to aliens and stuff. The stewardess on the plane, who looks like alien eyeballs times three always is proper in announcing “new member on board”.

Do you want to join the ship? You can wear a costume if you’d like to be undercover for awhile. Sometimes it can be more fun that way. You can even wear a mask. And we have an alien translator on board as well.
